Title: Cylinder sleeves

These guys make sleeves for almost every dirtbike

I know this is common stuff for 4-strokes, but this is the first time i see them for 2-smokers.
Because it's chrome-moly alloy, it probably doesn't need to be bored as much anymore.  :?
Anyway it sure beats buying a new cylinder.(in price) :-D
Any other pro's and con's?  :|

LA Sleeve has been making 2 stroke cyl sleeves for about the past 30 years.

They make sleeves for virtually anything. I work for a company that designs and mfg's severe service refinery pumps, and on one specific 4" diameter shaft pump we use, we use a good ol' LA sleeve incorperated into our design !

if you go to your local dealer, they wil have more information (the light blue one, about 30 to 200 pages depending on the shops request.).

la sleeve is expensive! your buying the name more than their work!!!!

going to your local machine shop or looking at shops in your area is gunna be alot eaisier on your wallet!!!

i found the machine shop in my area, where all the big dealer shops send their motor work to....hes some times grumpy but its alot cheaper than the dealer!!!

just my 2 cents

I dont like sleeves, i think plating is much better. JMO

you do loose heat transfer on re-sleaving

KX666, do you mean that the piston will reach higher temp because of the sleave?
Which also causes the piston to wear out faster?
