Title: New member of KXriders!
Post by: ws6transam on September 20, 2006, 10:12:33 AM
Hi Everyone,

I'm doing the research after a long, long stint without a dirt bike. The kids are a little older now and I never did get over the sudden loss of my Yamaha IT250... I brought it back from Australia, and had it titled for the street in Brevard County Florida when some ******* stole it off Patrick Air Force Base on Christmas day, 1990.

So anyway I helped a friend restore an old TS185 Suzuki, and after whipping it around the back lot a few times, I couldnt help but think about the old IT... However I have always admired the KX after getting to borrow a KX500 for an afternoon way back in early 1990... It was incredible, and it outclassed my works prepped IT in every way.

Now I think it's time to revive that old dream, pick up a KX, (either a 250 or 500), pop an off-road pipe on it along with a really heavy flywheel weight, a lighting kit, and then attempt to plate it for Michigan roads. That way I can toss it around town during afternoons, and occasionally put it onto the trails up north.

It's gotta be a two stroke though--- I never got enough of that.

Hello there...  two strokes are the bomb.  A 500 is an amazing piece of engineering, especially the Kawasaki KIPS 500...  Smooth and Strong.
