Post by: alan on August 22, 2006, 11:14:57 AM
Did anyone else see the Build - off with Mezger and LarryLinkogle? They took a KX250 and CR250 and turned them into the sickest freestyle bikes you have ever seen!

Check it out!

I won't spoil it for you!!!!!!!!!!

Metzger's was cool.  Linkogle's was kinda gay.  He's an idiot.

Metz definately has an artistic eye.  That show gave an idea or two for Wasabi's next re-build.

Metz was the man, he is an artist...  both literally and figuratively....  Linkogle was an idiot.  He was playing up to the under 12 crowd...  He sounded like he's has too many crashed without a helmet.  I think he needs to grow up a bit.

Are you going to polish the aluminum parts too?

Looks like we have another "Brother in Bling" in the making!  Definately looking forward to the progress of your bike alan.

Did anyone notice when MM was doing the tricks at the contest if he was on the bike he made, or the bike he made had spokes when he was jumping?  Wondering if the billet wheels made him nervous because of weight, strength, spinning mass or the like.  I like the pimped frame color though.  Might have to do something similiar to my KX5 when the time comes for the Bling Job.  Have some other fabrication mods to do before then.

The only picture I can find of Metzger's bike.  Discovery must have some serious rights to the pictures for awhile.  Sly

I definately think that those wheels were hot.  I come from the BMX days when the Mongoose Mags and the Skyway Tuff Wheels were too cool for school.  Spokes were old hat and the age of technology was becoming desirable.  So billet wheels on an MX bike... seems pretty trick to me!  Of course anything can be taken a few steps too far, but that is what has always set the trendsetters from the imitators.

Arigato: he was jumping it at Ocotillo but I was wondering about at the end of the show when him and some others were doing the big air stuff.  It looked like his bike but with spokes on it instead of the billets.  Maybe he wasn't even jumping it off the big kicker, but if he was, it sure didn't look like the billets.

I do agree that those would look PIMP on a sand bike... fo' sho!

Sly.

I'm not even sure it was the same BIKE at the end of the show.  I recorded it, but then erased it to make room for the motocross nationals.

First ! !  Let me apologize to anyone that I may offend with this follow-up post about Linkogle...

I am not sure that you know this about Linkogle, but I thought I would throw it out there.  Not that I feel a need to defend him...  but he is definately in a league not too many could even dream to reach.

Larry Linkogle World Record Jump 255 Feet on a 250cc

World Record for farthest jump on a 250cc motorcycle. Linkogle is one of the founders of "Freestyle Motocross" and trained Trigger Gumm who has the World Record for the "Outright Farthest" jump of 277 feet on a CR500. Props to the Hardcore!

Here is the video of the jump:   http://www.kxriders.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=85&pos=1

On another note, check out Robbie Maddison doing a Superman seat grab while jumping 246 Feet on his CR250.

Check it out here:   http://www.kxriders.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=85&pos=2

Doing my best to give props to the Hardcore that make the technology better for us...     FuriouSly
