Wow! A Classic indeed Alan. But I doubt it is going to go cheap? I bet that would be a blast to haul-ass down a green pasture with.
I could also imagine the kick back would kill.

This one isn't quite as big (430), but it's pretty easy to kick... once you know how! Got it for $795 and spent almost as much on the shocks.

My uncle and his mate had one o' them CR500's. 4-speed trans.
They reckoned the only use for 4th was pulling away cuz you'd flip it in any other gear. :-o
...Think they were mad enough to ride it on the road as well...

I loved the old Huskies. Had a `75 175, a `76 360, an `85 400, several `87 430`s, and a `97 610. The last one I had was a 430 and that cured me of wanting Huskies forever. The parts are seriously hard to get here in the US and cost PLENTY! A 430 piston cost $415 back in 2000. Too bad cause I loved the 6-speed wide ratio gearboxes. They had a nice top end. Except the 175 of course.

Thanks Doordie. You Swedes really knew how to make a bike, it's too bad they don't make them anymore. I love the way they attract attention. I can have one of the huskys next to the K5 and nobody cares about it.
Here's a old pic of my 250, the 390 is in storage at a friends and I don't have a pic of it to show. I really need to invest in a digital camera to update my pictures.

God that panel on the tank must be super polished!! Or its got a picture of a dude taking a photo stuck on the tank?

I remember riding a few old big bore Husky's and they had a really strange powerband. It was like they had no bottom end at all. I guess if you could give them a powervalve, reed spacer and a good pipe they might come alive! :-o :-o

The big-bore Huskys are similar to a modern day 250, not alot of bottom, plenty of mid range, and some top end. All three of mine have Mikuni carbs but I believe the ones with Bing carbs had much different powerbands. You have to remember that reed valves were state of the art and a PC took up a good portion of the room.
The tank on the 250 is chrome plated steel and that is a reflection in the tank. The black tank is alloy and not near as shiny. About a 2 lb difference between the two.
