Title: Sand tires for the beast
Post by: zagnut55 on July 28, 2006, 03:50:55 PM
Hi guys. I just bought some wheels off of e-bay and steered a friend of mine to a rear wheel with a buy it now price of $79! Anyways, I'm looking at a catalog from rocky mountain atv/mc. They have a 10 paddle tire in here for $57.95 which is a 110/90x19. The maker is AMS sand snake. Also, they have a matching front for $39.95 and it's 80/100x21. I don't know what you guys pay for your tires, but they have great shipping too. Anything you buy over $100 is free shipping (I know, I already bought tires and stuff before) AND you don't have to pay for those enviro fees that california sticks you with. Check out their web site as it's pretty good too. WWW.rockymountainatvmc.com. You can't beat great deals and free shipping. Paul.

I also get a lot of my offroad goodies from this site. A word of caution though, out of 5 times that I ordered tires from them, they sent me the wrong size twice and wouldn't take them back or give me a refund. Just something to keep in mind, other than that I haven't had any problems with them. :|

Wow! Really? They wouldn't take them back?!?! Well, I guess I'm 1for1. Of course, I phoned in my order. Maybe that helps. We'll see as I'm ordering 3 tires soon. Paul.

I am trying the new Maxxis Desert IT's. So far I am very impressed with the performance. Maxxis's are short money compared to "Done-laps" or Bridgestoneds. Can't comment on longevity as my sneaks are brand new. )I have run Maxxis a lot in the past with awesome results)

I was thinking of changing to the maxxis IT also for the desert, but do they make a sand dune tire?

I also bought AMS sand snake front and rear.  I found a set of KX500 wheels from a 1997 model on e-bay.  I have not run them yet, at 110 deg. it's to hot to go to Little Sahara Okla.  We'll wait till mid Sept. after it cools down.  I'm hoping the 10 paddle hooks up better than the 8 paddle I've run in the past.

Yep, know EXACTLY whar your talking about. It's more like 121 degrees (or was) here. We're all waiting for september also to go to Dumont Dunes. I can't wait to feel the power everyone keeps talking about! Oh yea, I also have the sand rail and I KNOW that's fun. Later guys and thanks for the input. Paul.
