Title: New Guy to the Forum and Riding
Post by: Eric Meyer on July 15, 2006, 01:35:03 AM
Great site! I found out about this site from DirtRiders.net. Just bought my 98' KX250 back in sept of last year for a 1000$. My first dirt bike... I rode it for a few months and completely tore it apart. I mean down to just the frame. I sand blasted and powder coated the frame and swing arm. When I did the top end I had to get a reconditioned cyclinder and also found out the Power Valve had never worked since I had the bike. Now it's all back together and it runs awesome. I love green!

Hi there, stuck powervalves sounds familiar.  I bought my 00KX5 from a guy in California that had some work done to it and appears to not have been very mechanical himself.  My powervalve actauting arm was not hooked up and the build-up of carbon was hideous.  Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your bike soon.

On mine the e-clip on the shaft was gone which would not let actuator move the shaft. Also mine had mounds of carbon like it had'nt been serviced in quite a while. Thanks for the replies...
