Title: kx500 cdi hookup

does anyone know if it is possible to wire a 89 cdi with a 90 or newer stator. my problem is a new stator has 5 wires and my old one had 6 so i do not know what to with the extra green/white cdi wire. any help would be appreciated.

I would say just to buy the newer igniter(cdi) to run with the newer stator,but may be Baja Designs or Ricky Stator could answer what the third wire does on your old cdi if you trying to save $? buy running the old one, sorry Im not much help.

i am to cheap to buy a new one that cost $218 but i will give them a call. thanks for the info is there anybody else that might have an ideal what to do with the extra wire
