87 KX500 lighting coil anybody make one..or have one, also a low tooth # rear sprocket. Thanks

I seen one for sale on an auction site here in New Zealand for 90's onwards so you should be able to get one for your year

You are going to need a complete ignition system from a 90 to 04 model bike. The stator plate is diff. and the flywheel is diff. I have a 87 500 and spent hrs looking for a lighting coil. I got a complete system from a member here for 90 + model bike but have not installed it.

Thanks guys.. guess I will go with the newer bike parts...I got it licensed on the street here in Washington...kinda erased offroad off the title from California..and Washington licensed a KX500...cool huh..I put a tailight/brakelight and some tiny headlights and some street tires...and a 1.5 pound 12 volt yacht battery to run the brakelight..can you say MOTARD..weighs the same as stock cause the tires are lighter..gonna put a 17/42 sprocket set on it and it should top out at 109+...
