Title: gluing mx boot soles?
Post by: stuckthrottle on February 25, 2006, 08:07:27 AM
The soles on my tech5 's are coming unglued. I tried gorrila glue but it dries hard and cracks, so it doesnt really work for soles. Is there a better way of gluing them back on?

THANKS

I get my local boot shop to fix them. Any shop that sspecializes in gluing cowboy boots or upholstry should be able to do it good. Have you tried superglue? There is a rubber cemet that you can get at any local auto shop. It comes un mixed (like jb weld). If I remember the name I'll let you know, but it is good stuff. But i let any shoe shop do othe repair. As my AXO's are now out of business and unable to purchase anymore

I've heard that shoe goo works well but haven't tried it myself.  3M contact cement has worked for me.  Whatever glue you use, it has to be flexible.  Cam.

A glue called Goop works also.

i looked for the goop stuff for 'in the mean time' and I found some 'new' loctite weatherstripping repair-all stuff that worked great. By the smell of things, its just industrial grade silicone or something similar, but it works. fyi and thanks.
