I have a question for all new and old members, how did you find this site? I have been looking through various search engines and I can't believe how hard we are to find! I hope we can fix this problem!
Alan :D
-
Saw a blue Dodge truck with a sticker in the back glass
"The KX Forums"
-
Extensive searching on the net. Its was about 10 pages of searching before I found the site.
-
I sold the Red Racer but liked thier web site forum. After buying a KX500, I needed a forum that was all about the Mighty KX500 so I used MSN search engine looking for "kx500" forum and after many pages found this site. I found a couple of others but forgot how to get back to them. Now I dont want to find them. I have become "hooked" on this site and found the information valuable. I also feel like I have friends here.
How can we make this site easier to find?
-
Anyone know where I can get that sticker for the back window of my truck ?
-
From dirtrider.net, they refered me here for extensive KX5 information. I agree Alan, I tried to do a google.. I didn't find a hit within' a few pages. It was quite a shock
-
Anyone know where I can get that sticker for the back window of my truck ?
Any sign shop that does vinyl lettering should be able to make it any way you want.

Anyone know where I can get that sticker for the back window of my truck ?
I have to believe that is Paul's truck. It was a big blue Dodge Ram with that sticker in the back glass. IF that was his truck, he's probably got the only one.
-
glad this got brought up - i was searchin for any info on Kx5's for over a week.........
there was an inactive link on the supermotojunk.com site, and cos the registration was disabled i thought this site was dead.
google search is good for increasing hits
:)
-
I think I found PitBull on this site.
http://members3.boardhost.com/Kx500/
Check it out.

Thanks Guys!
Dave and I were talking about ways to drive more traffic to the site, because I couldn't figure out how I found either!
Maybe even buying more related names and linking them to the site. There are ways of moving the name up on the search engines. So we will be checking into all the ways we can afford!
Alan :D
-
It is an obscure name. Anyone know how it came to be that name and not something like kxforums.com, badass500s.com, etc...
-
Dirtrider.net is how I got here.
Dale
-
Yep! I would like it to be like the kawieriders.com is for Kawasaki Quad site!
Alan :)
-
www.kxriders.com is available
-
www.kxriders.com is available
I will grab it in the morning unless someone else wants it!
-
Alan, I like it! I've hoped somebody would step up to the plate with these ideas! I believe there is a fee to get put up on Google somewhere at the top. I don't think it would be that hard to overtake the KX500 search. ;-)
-
Good thing we never got the t shirts printed up. Maybe now is a better time to get the poll running to see if we can muster up enough numbers to do something. Stickers also? I'm sure we could get some cool designs/ logos...
-
The problem could be that the actual forum is not accessible unless you are an authenticated user (i.e. logged in). I noticed this by a mistake. If this is the case, the search bots will not index the information in the forum = no search hits.
The web server listener is configured to serve requests on "http://www.pitbull-racing.com" and "http://pitbull-racing.com" as well as the IP-address; http://140.99.45.111). The cookie used to authenticate the user (so you don't have to sign in again) is stored under the context of the site you are accessing. Try accessing one of the "other" sites I have listed above and you'll see what I mean.
If this is the problem, its' most likely caused by too restrictive security settings for non authenticated user access.
The listener issue should idealy also be fixed; the listener should be tied down to www.pitbull-racing.com and nothing else. The oter "sites" should just re-direct to the www... The reasons are that search enginges will accumulate the number of hits and rank the page. This will not be the case if the same page is accessible under multiple names.

what about simplistic www.KX500.com 8)
most other (smaller) KX riders are members of local forums!
i reckon people would even type that in faster than searching for it!
available names:
http://www.123-reg.co.uk/whois-results.cgi?domain=KX500&root=&lookup=OK
looks like www.KX500.com is owned by network solutions (www.networksolutions.com) = but is also up for grabs......
you could email them or make them an offer: $1

I filed KXriders last night! I really don't think we need KX500.com name, Kxriders.com is far more diverse!
Now the search engines should bring up KXriders when anyone types in KX500, 250 etc this moves us way up on the lists. I will see when Dave can direct KXriders.com to the site!
Beyond that we can use banners like Denniskirk.com etc. to recommend us if we give them a banner position on the site.
Alan :D

I done a MSN Search and we were on the first page 6th item listed. So it worked. Thanks Alan. I just typed in KX Forums.
I tried to use kawasaki forums and we were no where listed. I went through 7 pages. We might try to attach the word kawasaki into the mix.

Wow! I didn't think it could happen that fast!
Alan :)

I was doing research on my KX100 and KX enthusiasts sites. Didn't come up with much, then finally found this after about 12 pages.
-
Alan,
Once you find us on the net the description of the site is not clear. doesn't say anything about dike bikes or nothing about kawasaki. I think this would help if the description was clear about the sites content.

Hoopty, I like your new avatar, it's HOT !

How does a coonazz survive in the desert? Although the better question is who sends you your Community Coffee (a local La. brand for you easterners)!

I believe the original reason I found this forum was because of Alan. I have an 87 yz490 and was on the 490 forum, and read about his kx500 at one point, and was directed to this site. Come to think of it, I think that's how I ended up with my KX500 also! :D Thanks Alan!

I did a Google search. Now here I am. :-P

Hey everyone... Just joined and found this site from http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-motocross-offroad/ (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-motocross-offroad/)
Anyway, The way to get listed higher in the search engines is to use key words in the META TAGs KEYWORD section in the HTML for the main page also called "index.html"
If you click on "VIEW" in the top left of your browser, then select "SOURCE or "PAGE SOURCE" you will see this:
<meta name="keywords" content="PHP, MySQL, bulletin, board, free, open, source, smf, simple, machines, forum" />
These are the keywords that earch engines look for and when a search is conducted. The red are the keywords. If you have access to edit the source, you can chage these keywords to like Kawasaki, KX125, KX250, KX500, Kawasaki Jetting, KX, Kawasaki mods, Kawasaki engine, KX problems, ect
Then when a search is made with one of thses keywords, your chances increase to be on the first search page.
Also you will want to do the same with the "Description"

Google search when I decided to get another KX 500 while I could still find one in decent shape. I bought one new in 89 and had it for about 6 years until it got stolen. Bought a 94 KX 250 to replace the KX5 and while it is a nice bike (still have it) it's not a 500. Wanted to find out which years had the best suspension since it seems the frame and engine are pretty much the same from 89 till 04.
Got a 2001 KX 500 with about 10 hours on it about 2 weeks ago. Had bent stock bars and scratched left side plastic from a minor get off, but otherwise looks new. Hadn't even had any paint rubbed off the frame.
-
If you click on "VIEW" in the top left of your browser, then select "SOURCE or "PAGE SOURCE" you will see this:

Thanks for bringing that up, it's been corrected ;)
<meta name="keywords" content="Kawasaki, forums, KX, KX Help, kx help, KX500, KX450, KX450F, KXF450, KX250, KX250F, KXF250, KX125, KX100, KX85, KX80, KX65, KX60, kx maintenance, kx forums, KX Forums, kx help" />

Hi brownie, you mentioned that you had spotted the link in my sig pic :-D
-
I got here via pit bull racing,Alan i agree that if KX RIDERS can come up on the first page of goggle when Kawasaki is simply entered it would be an excellent move for others to enjoy this site.
Apparently there are alot of fallacies over how to increase the number of hits of a site,if you would like to have a look at the following link http://kiwiwebhost.co.nz/searchengines.htm it may be of some help.
-
I was referred by a fellow KX5 rider, Arigato, for useful info and friendly help. Looking to get more invovled in the future. Thanks for the cool Forum !
-
Hey all I'm back! I was looking for pitbull-racing and remembered about the name change so I looked up kx500 till I saw a name I remembered which was kxriders. I am not sure I would have found this site just by typing kawasaki. FuriouSly nice videos!!!
-
Thanks for the thumbs up on the videos. Hopefully more in the mix. Maybe some peeps from KXRiders can get in my future footage.

I was asking ???'s about the k5 on another forum , and someone refered me here ! Thanks , if you read this !

If it was at DRN it was either gwcrim or me. In any case Welcome! There are plenty of guys here who can help you.

Hey!! thats how I found it too :-D Thumpertalk has a "2 smoke" section and it was
there, while deciding what 2 stroke to buy, that I found a thread with a link to here.
Magic site BTW .... and Monkeybutt rules! I buy all my stuff from them and/or Rockymountain ATV MC.
-
Yup, thumpertalk.

by devine intervention...and yahoo! I think just kawasaki kx250

I found this site looking for KX500 vidio clips. I found the clips that were from this site I think they were the only K5 vids I could find. When I went to look at them I found the site and I am glad I did. I had to rejet my K5 and the discusion in this site helped out very much. Glad to be here.
-
Well I am lookin for a topend on 3wheelerworldforums.com and BigGreenMachine gave me a link to this site.
-
I also found it through TT, which I think is the best site on the net. Not to offend anyone that frequents here, this site is comes in at a very close second, only because TT is alot more active with 120,000 members :-)
-
You're not offending me at all, I've never wanted this place to have membership like that. Mainly due to the s**tbags that you'll invariable attract. I have strived to maintain the highest degree of information and the best members around. I think for KX - specificly the 500 - information / membership we're pretty hard to compete with :)

I know what you're saying, TT does have alot of idiots. This site seems to be a place where everybody put out useful coments which is a huge plus, and I think you do a good job of running the place.
-
I frequent the kTmTalk.com site. Very well organized and moderated. After finding a, new for me, kx250, started looking for mod info etc. Was referred to your site. It looks to be very good! If membership here enjoys info, invite others to participate. The larger the base, the more accumulated knowledge-we will all benefit! (http://216.165.194.66/ktmtalk/photogallery/galleries/members/banana.gif)
-
I frequent both TT and KTMtalk and have posted referals on those sites. This site is real clean compared to some of the others. We have good moderation of posts here.
-
The beauty of the membership here is that I've had to reign in one post since Oct of 2002. Not too shabby, give yourselves a hand fellas you make my job easy :)
-
Clap, Clap, Clap... that is cool Paul  What I like about dropping in here is that the hot/active topics are always different. The occasional jetting, kickstart, tires thread pop in and out, but the variety of topics are always refreshing. Good job guys.

I found a link to this site on ThumperTalk. The guy who posted it said, "If you have KX questions go to www.KXRiders.com"
-
I had posted a KX susp. question on Ktmtalk and there was a post that I should come here and check it out, it said there would be alot of help here. found the awnser to my question in about 10 minutes. Thanks
:-D :-D :-D :-D

Googled KX, and wala!
JFYI, alot of times when a "hard" tech question is asked, but not answered at TT, someone will almost always recomend KX Riders for an answer, that right thar says it all..Good on y'all..
-
I was referred from the TT Kawi 2-smoke section also.
-
I was perusing through old threads on another 500 site and a fellow who had gotten some advice on his kx highly recommended PitBull Racing for anything on a Big Kawasaki (ShanMan..whereabouts unknown...Great guy )
Couldn't find anything on Pitbull Racing. ( self admittedly My 'putor skills leave alot to be desired )
I recall googling a bunch of stuff and found You Guys. Probably Divine intervention.

You found PtiBull Racing, for various reasons the name has changed, the information and persons stayed the same :)
ShanMan has decided to go to the darkside and rides a CR500AF here in Arizona.

I was looking for kx500 parts for the, at one time, basket case that I found on Ebay. I found a chatroom called something like Thumper talk, that came up on a search engine for kx 500. Then, I think, I found a link on that site, or I possibly found this looking to find them again for the second time.
I was wondering about this since the straight rear fender mod, and black plastic threads..... Can you guys get either after-market mfg's, or Oem dealers to pay for this information or for advertising their products and services. Seems like their is alot of useful info on here for Off-road businesses and a good target audience for some useful marketing.
I'm not saying that I want the site to be loaded with junk mails, but what about getting that straight fender on the k5 without so much effort, or getting available colors on bike plastic. Manufactures to see the demand of 2-strokes, and after-market appetites. Even riding parks, or atv tourism spots, racing schedules, or any other kawasaki-based marketing seems reasonable. At least, they could support the site and expand the usefulness of it. I see that it may be difficult to have applicable marketing info since the site is global, but alot of businesses are international or would like to be. Also is a chore to find out about good riding areas for an annual vacation, unless you have been there before or have talked to someone that has. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking in this direction, and it probably has been discussed on a thread, but I have yet to see it.
They sponsor pro rider and off road events in hopes of catching the eye of their target audience, why wouldn't companies jump at a chance to market to this many consumers?
-
I did a google search, and one of the threads came up. I am glad I found this place. I was looking into a couple of other forums, and it seemed like it was one big pissing match. I don't want to compare who has the fastest bike, I just want to get info, and gain some new riding contacts. So far I am happy with the site.
-
I was referred from the TT Kawi 2-smoke section also.
x1 :-) tt kawi 2 smoke section

I was referred from the TT Kawi 2-smoke section also.

same here. TT is great for info on my KLX-400. So, when i 1st got my KX5, I posted a couple of questions in the Kawi 2 stroke section, i was recommended to come here for definitive answers. By more than a few people. So it seems that KXriders is the home of the real world truth!
-
same again, i was googlin lookin for some parts and just wandered in here but id sifted thru quite a lot of junk before i found this place.
-
Found a link to this site in an old post on Dirt Rider forums.
Glad I dug as far as I did.

I was having problems with my carb, googled and found kxriders. This place has all the info.
-
I found this site by the kawasaki motorcycle forum.
by reading all you guys do the kx 250/500 conversion bikes i too did one .
there is so much info from all readers that you learn something new or the answer of your problems on bikes
At the moment i'm doin stewarts piston modified
It's a KX250 01 with a 98 500
I ended up using a KX 450/500 FMF pipe mated to a pro circut 304R muffler with the join modified to fit . FMF needed work to fit were the coolant pipe comes out on the right side of the barrel and the mount cut off where it bolts on the KX 450 frame, where the rear shock is
I used a 250 radiators heavily modified.
Like to here back from you all
-
I bought a green machine and did a search to find myself some help and needed information.
-
I am rebuilding a 94 kx 250 and have literally spent every evening for the past 3 weeks online checking out flea bay and searching for any and all info concerning Kawi kx's. I just found this sight a few days ago. It is hidden very well, but worth the extensive searching. Glad to be here
-
i was looking to sell my k5 in the spring but never got any calls so i decided to keep it and fix it up and found this site and am very glad i kept it. lots of great info to keep these jolly green giants running
-
I had recently bought a KX500AF and was looking for jetting info at ThumperTalk's Kawasaki 2 stroke forum when I ran across someone else's post recommending this sight for 500 info.
Great find! I've had all my questions answered by reading the 500 forum posts!
-
I've been getting the black goo at my exhaust and was searching for jetting tips for my 2002 KX250. I found this site and turns out that someone who rides the same year and make as me and who lives in the same metro posted his jetting specs. I'll be trying those settings in the next week or so. This site is great, but yes, I stumbled onto it.
-
I was looking a ktmtalk.com and I started wondering if there was a kawasakitalk.com. Well there is, but is was not what I was looking for so kept trying different searches and I found this. Ahhh, I like this one.
-
i had just bought my 500 and i knew nothing about kawis so i spent about 2 days looking for info and i found this site. i know im not the most liked but this place in another family
-
I have a question for all new and old members, how did you find this site? I have been looking through various search engines and I can't believe how hard we are to find! I hope we can fix this problem!
Alan :D
In my eternal search for knowledge, I found this site as a recommendation from a fellow ThumperTalk member.
I have settled on this bike, and will pick it up tomorrow.:yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay:!

I got wet, and got a KX500, now I just need to make the dream come true, and motard it.

I was looking on google to figure out some questions I had about this KX500 I have and came across this site

Same as TYLERB137 above - I was googling for answers to KX500 problems and found this site.
Love the KX500 !!

I was surfing Thumper Talk. The Kawi 2stroke section featured many referals for big KX power. Who'da thought a thumper forum??"

My son told me about it. he rides a 1999 KX 250. He got me back into the dirt. I had a 1991 Cr 500 that was ported and polished with a gnarly pipe on it. I sold that when I moved to Florida 7 years ago. My son bought this KX 250 and was having a blast at Croome, so I bought a 1999 KX 500 and started building it up. I learned alot from this web site and I want to THANK all of you KX riders. This site is a wealth of knowledge!!!

was looking up information on sprockets and gearing in order to tame my beast k5 back last year, came across this site and signed up, problem was solved within 48hr's, thanks guys...!!

I have a question for all new and old members, how did you find this site? I have been looking through various search engines and I can't believe how hard we are to find! I hope we can fix this problem!
Alan :D
I was checking my website referrals to see where all my traffic was coming from.
Since my own personal ride is a K5 it caught my attention when I saw the web address.
I checked out the site and decided it was worth further investigation 8-)
-
While searching up info on a KX500 ran across other forums and they all said to come to this site because this is where all the correct info is. They were right. :-)
-
Some one told me on TT(thumpertalk) that you guys knew ur S#$T about the 500. So here I am. And hopefully, no one indespensable to this site will be leaving any time soon!
-
...while searching Thumpertalk & ADVRider someone made a reference.

Google got me here. While searching for information on "KX500 into kxf250 frame" I came across this site nearly first and that was it, hooked real bad.

Local bike shops around Cincinnati. :-D

blew up my very first kx500 after a single ride, found the site looking for a jetting chart on the bike, witch led to a engine rebuild guide witch led to a overflow bottle mod witch led to massive amounts of hours reading stories and tips and tricks haha and became obsessed with listening to motorad sandblaster usmc and every other friendly bunch that is nice enough to share all this information with all of us "less" mechanically engineering smart people..
thanks guys

i was doing a random KX500 Google search after I picked up my third KX5 ten years after selling my second one.
Was surprised at how my reactions had dulled, or was I just remembering I was better (lucky?) then I actually was back then?!?!
Had a nasty crash and could swear as I was laying on the ground taking a body damage inventory and the bike was banging away beside me trying to eat my leg it was screaming "GET UP, GET UP! COME ON! IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT?!?!" :-D
-
Do enough searching for indepth k5 info and eventually youll find it  its for the dedicated.
-
I rebuilt a 83 kx125. Since its my only bike I guess I'm a KX guy now
-
I followed Sandblaster here from SMJ. Then I got my 1990 KX250 and the rest is history.
-
I arrived here mainly because I was intriqued with the af conversions and was pondering doing so with mine. I was watching a youtube vid and in the discussion segment there was mention of CR500 riders.com so I tried KX500 """" and well here I am . This is the vid I watched .. https://youtu.be/wBLpQMIzcNs .

Nice bike.
I'm thinking he should have visited this site before building that engine.
Just a few changes...
Wossner piston
Balanced crank.
Kips bolt mod
Team green cleanup on the transfers and bridges.
A little off the top of the cylinder and a special base gasket.
Head cut and decomp
VF2 reed
MZB ignition
Monster!

If Mitch Payton suddenly realized that you are a long lost relative and decided to give you a brand new set of A Kit suspension, would you get gold legs or the turquoise? I'm torn, but I think I would go with the gold.
-
I would be a rebel and get one of each

That's diabolical in its simplicity. Well played sir.
-
Hmm one of each , meaning the left leg gold and the right torquise or ???? haha.
-
Yup... or request zebra stripes
-
I would guess if your that tight with him to be given a set certainly zebra stripes wouldn't be out of the question, perhaps a good word for a set for a buddy would be nice too. Hint hint.
-
If Mitch Payton discovers I am a long lost relative, I will put in a good word for everyone. We just have to wish Mr. Payton be like:

all i did was googled/ yahooed kx500 forums and this was the first one one the page. actually i found this site many moons prior to registering as a member. i wasted many moons looking elsewhere for answers a lot less thorough and a lot less free...in my opinion this is by far and away the best forum concerning anything im interested in knowing dirt bike related. hands down!

Funny that first post on this thread was 10 yrs ago and apparently was harder to find.
Had to be Uber easy for this caveman to find it
