Title: Water Pump Seal

Hey Guy's,

I just removed the impeller and the two bearings and seal. The seal when I removed it the seal lip was facing out to the impeller. I am thinking the seal lip should face inside to the bearings. Which way does it go? Anybody have an extra impeller they would sell? I chipped one of the blades on my. Let me . Thanks.

Hughes,
  Lip towards the water is normal.  On my 92 those bearings are the same as skateboard wheel bearings. I got some ultimate quality ones for $2 each at a bearing shop.  No sure what they cost at a Kaw shop. Of the two in the case, only one is easy to get out the other gave me some grief. All mine were shot from the aluminum residue from the clutch plates. Cam.

The bearings feel real smooth but I oredered every bearing for this engine last month so they are getting replaced. The seal lip that I am talking about is the one that has the small metal spring wrapped around it. Should this face water side or bearing side :?: Thanks.

Waterside on mine, has not leaked in a year. :-)  Good luck
