Title: 1989 KX 250 Stator/Rotor
Post by: Mr4bl389 on April 26, 2021, 08:45:10 AM
Anybody have pics of alignment marks? When I set my stator to the 3 marks on the case and bring my piston to TDC my rotor mark is a 1/2 inch off. Always had starting issues with this bike. So my winter project was a full resto on this and putting the motor back together and finding this is possibly my starting issues? So thinking (bad idea) on my part I might have the wrong rotor? The number on the rotor is F3T81471. If anybody has pics, part #'s or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats the correct Rotor for 1989 kx250.
Check your service manual for correct alignment.
Remember, you need spark before the piston reaches TDC.. probably something around 19 degrees.
Trust the timing marks...
