hey folks,
I'm about 2/3 of the way through my restoration of an 87 KX500. Went to rebuild the forks last night. The top caps on the fork were a little stripped. But the caps are apparently seized into the tubes. I can get them out but it would destroy the caps. I wanted to buy new caps anyway (due to the originals being stripped). I cannot find them anywhere. Anybody have any leads?
Thanks,
Andrew

Is the thread damage or were the spanner goes on ? if it rounded off from a spanner we have had alloy nuts tig welded on after you grind the old section off, some dirt bikes have alloy nuts on there front axels , most new models mx bikes have them, this will work as we have done this on bikes were the caps are no longer avaliable.
