Title: 1989 KX500 no casting marks on engine

New to the board. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help me out. I have what I believe to be a 1989 KX500 with zero casting marks on the engine other than the stamped serial number which is KX500BE009064. Was hoping someone could explain why. Thanks.

Because that is all there are, the head has a casting number.

Yes, it's a 89  1989 is KX500BE008501 - KX500BE010700
