Title: KX100 Shock
Post by: Saner on November 01, 2005, 06:34:18 AM
Who makes a good MX shock?  I'm looking to buy one since mine seems pretty dead.

If you were planning on scoring a bigger bike later on, you might as well do up you'r original shock. Aftermarket ones are pretty expensive. And really not that much better than a good original. Unless you are super hard arse top kx pilot from hell!  Check: Ohlins, Fox, Showa, KYB, White Power, Marzocchi.

What can be done to my original shock?  I'm very interested in going that route rather than spending a whole bunch of cash on aftermarket.  Are there any companies that rebuild shocks?

Try your local shop first.

I had my KX500s shock rebuilt at the local shop and it was about $150 and they had to replace everything, seals, bladder and bushing.
