I ended up buying a 1980 KX125 that's pretty tough shape.
One of those, "yeah I'll take it deals," after seeing only pics of it and when he dropped it off it even looked rougher!
Missing so far.
Cdi
Coil
Stator wires have been cut but I can fix that as long as it tests ok.
Seat
Airbox
Carb assembly-throttle
Clutch release parts
Silencer
It has a PSI pipe, not sure if they are worth anything?
Is it worth messing with? The old shootouts all raived about the suspension but the engine was a mut.
Anyone have serviceable parts for 80-81 125?
I'd like to save it but not big on the 125s anymore I just don't like neglecting one that's in my possession.

Hey if nothing else it'll be a challenge!! It's only time n 💰 :  :

the 80 model kx125 suffered from poor porting which was different from the 79 and 81 model which were both faster bikes , so a good port job is the go and didn't harm durability .its worth doing as there not a lot of them around.

Well I did finally get spark out of her, used a 1989 YZ125 cdi with an 2002 Honda Foreman coil.
I tried a brand new Jannsen racing coil for a TRX 250R Honda but I couldn't get fire out of it witch seems strange?
I was thinking of purchasing an 89 YZ125 coil for it since the cdi works.
Anyway anyone know of a complete gasket kit for it? With seals?
It has a new Wiseco std piston but I'm thinking of going .050 over on it.
It also has an Hot Rods connecting rod that doesn't look to have much time on it.
