Title: Aftermarket tank for kx500AF based on kx250f frame 2009-2011

interested to fit a bigger tank on my KX500AF

I find some tank from IMS and acerbis
Acerbis Kawasaki KX250F:09-10 3.3gal Gas Tank Natural 2160180147

wonder if the clearance with the cylinder head is like the original tank

any ideas or advices from people who tried aftermarket tank on their KX500AF

I don’t have a 500 in my AF, but I do own an Acerbis tank. They carry the gas high, and outside the rails a bit. On my bike, it goes over and replaces the frame mounted shroud mounting holes on the side. It also angles the seat up more than my IMS tank. It does have more bottom clearance than the IMS though. One thing to consider is that it does have a pronounced lip over the seat that could do damage to your goods in you slide too far forward (like in a wreck).
