Title: really dirty crank bearing!!

today I splitted a 87 kx500 engine it was smoking like a train.
this is how looks the crank bearing, the crank and the crank chamber is full of black oil with some hard black particules

I suspect a worn crank seal

tell me what do you think?

you hit the nail on the head. allways good to change gear box oil regular to flush out the gear and clutch particals and use a good 2 stroke oil , side note i see so many 4 stroke owners leave there oil changes so long then they wonder why they are worn out . one bloke had a suzuki pe175 , dropped the bung nothing came out it was like thick sludge and he wondered why the clutch was toast.
