Just looking over my frames today as going to get them powder coated so wanted to be sure I get the best one to keep and noticed I have got KX 500 clamps on one, KX 250 clamps on the next and still have a spare 125 frame with 125 clamps on, I always assumed they were the same through out the range being all have 41mm forks, does anybody know if the off sets are different and if so what characteristics will I get from each set? My guess would be for somebody to put 500 clamps on a 250 there must be a good reason other broke his 250 ones and could not find another set :?

This sounds like a KXDino question. Be patient as he isn't on every day, but he will probably know the answer right off the top of his head

Thanks, would be good to know what the differences are between the three, surely they wont all be the same if Kawasaki have gone to the effort of putting the numbers raised proudly on them! :?

Anybody got any ideas on this one please?? If the KX500 clamps off set works out I will be getting some of those lovely looking KX Guru clamps and upgrading the forks! Thanks in advance (Y)

Here is a picture of the clamps on my KX 250 1990, look tatty and will need changing regardless, note that they say KX 500 on them!

They look the same, they fit the same... Oh look, they are the same  FITS 90 KX250 KX500 44039-1190

Ok so Kawasaki made exactly the same clamps with exactly the same off sets to fit three models in 1990 but have ensured that 125/250/500 is stamped on the underside incase they were not sure what bike to fit them on in the factory :-o :? that is nuts but great news I guess, I was expecting each set to have different off sets at least! Thanks for the info (Y)
I will have to put Guru clamps + KXF forks on my hit list as well, at least that is one KXF wheel I wont need to space out, dohhhpp will also need a new front calliper
