Hello everyone. New guy here with a 99 KX 250 engine. I'm doing a hybrid swap on a 2008 can am DS 450 . I can post pictures for anybody who's interested in seeing what I've done so far .

If any of you guys are handy with wiring, I am in a bit of a slump...I bought a complete running 99 kx250 for the doner on this project. I'm down to the wiring harness now and I don't remember having 2 open plugs and I haven't a clue what they go too!!! I have the cdi plugged in and the voltage regulator plugged in. Now I have 2 triangular plugs that I can't seem to find what is supposed to go to them... Any ideas?

Have you plugged in the lead from the engine?  I saw in the picture it’s not plugged in. Also, does your carburetor have a lead coming off of it?  The later model 250s have a throttle position sensor on them, but I’m not sure about the earlier ones.

Very cool project by the way. We’ll need some video when you’re done.  :-D

I don't have any pics of the harness on the ds but yes. The lead from the engine is plugged in. The carb doesn't have any plugs on it.

The 99 KX250 had a throttle position sensor and a solenoid.
Both require a separate plug which is likely what you are seeing.
I have ran a newer carb that had those plugs on a older bike by removing the sensor and the solenoid and blocking them off.
But I have never tried to run a older carb without the electronics on a newer engine..
It might run but I'm not sure how well...
Hopefully someone else here has tried it.

Well, whoever had it before me took it off for sure!! It ran like a spotted ape when I bought the bike. Made a couple passes thru the neighborhood, pissed everyone off, and got the cops called on me and I tore it down.
