Title: '86 KX500 Shock Swap

Greetings all.  I am new to the forum and looking forward to participating as I rebuild my '86 KX500.  I sent the shock in for a rebuild and the tech told me it is completely worn out and not re-buildable.  Has anyone figured out a swap to a more modern shock?  Just to clarify this shock system has a remote reservoir and no lower linkage.  Thank you.
