Title: 500AF Picture Test
Post by: kxpegger on January 03, 2018, 03:19:37 PM
Picture Test!
Trying to embed a pic from PhotoBucket! Took about ten tries and having to delete about half their code but I finally got a picture here! What a pain in the ass!

It will probably get taken down.  Photobucket is trying to extort anyone that used their service to post pictures by blocking the linked pictures.  They will fix the links for the low, low price of $399 a year.   :-o  I posted instructions on how to use Imgur, which is free, and a lot easier to use to boot.

Thanks! I eventually figured out what part of their code that wasn't allowing KXriders to embed the photo. Lets see if they figure it out! I'll try Imgur next time around. I was wondering why PhotoBucket pics were disappearing!

Just out of curiosity, what part of the code did you remove?

+1, Is this what you get to do when you retire?  :-)

They have four different default selections for copy and a 5th if you right click on the photo. The selection that worked was direct IMG I believe but it had two separate link codes all strung together. Cant remember if I deleted the first string or the second but that's how I finally got the picture here and embedded. I'll try it again this evening and document what works! Had a few beers last night and it took me about 10 tries and a half hour to find the right combination.

Add .jpg~original[/img] to the end of the img tag. Just the ~original. I'm showing the .jpg and the end of the img tag for reference.

When in doubt, ask a retired guy.

I have found, some of the pics end with  [/URL]  and the  ~original  won't fix it.

...if it looks like this

Try removing the URL /URL statements from beginning and end of the string.

Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

I gave it a try like you suggested, but no go.
There may still be a way to do it, but I'm not too good at the decoding

If you right click on my picture and select properties this is what you see at "address". http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/peteegger/Wicked500ccofKawai008.jpg~original. I'm pretty sure I selected "Direct IMG" from the Photobucket default selection table and then made changes from there until I got what you see above. This code will work when used with the KXRiders "insert image" icon which adds the correct "img" coding in front of the "http://" and after "original". As you can see from the picture below....success!!!!!!!!!!

Way back when we were all using photobucket, I was using the Direct IMG in the photobucket site every time I posted a pic...I'm not sure why some end with [/img]  and some end with  [/img][/URL]  like the one shown in the pic I used on here as an example.
Thanks for the tips...I'll try messin around with it again a lil later.
