Title: kx500 Frame and Engine Identity

Hello all,
I am new here and I have joined this website to get help with my kx500. I am not able to get anywhere with my numbers. Frame Vin is JKAKXVC17HA0J0714 The year is 87 i think but what frame was this built for? 250 or 500? Now on the to Motor KX500BL004977 < I cannot find an L and any of the listings/ What year is ?

Hi cbarrett, welcome to the site.  One of our members, Sandblaster, put together this awesome reference list for KX500 part numbers.  I think you will be able to find your numbers in the first couple of columns.

I have seen most all of the charts except one that can identify my bike. I need lol "expert level help"

Hell Yea! I looked at most of all the charts and i did not see anything with the BL in the engine ID.  Maybe when it was stamped it did not punch through.
So if you guys feel pretty confident about it then I'll go with that.
