Title: 89 46mm forks on a 86 KX500?

Considering putting a set of 89 KX500 forks on my 86 KX500. I have the triples and all, will this work? My biggest concern would be screwing up the handling, any advice is appreciated.

Otherwise my other option is using the cartridge internals from a set of 88 KX250 forks, I am pretty sure they will fit.

I have both sets of forks to choose from, opinions? FYI using either of these parts keeps me legal in our local Evo4 class, thanks for the help!
