Title: Tighter turn radius?
Post by: 1980mcneil on September 03, 2017, 06:41:59 AM
Trying to improve the Beast for the trails as much as I can. I need to replace my chain and was thinking of getting one that pulls the rear tire in as much as possible. Shortening the turn radius. I read somewhere about bringing the front forks up to do something similar but I wasn't able to find it again. Does anybody have a recommendation on this? Like a measurement of how far I can bring the front forks up?

you can go as far as you want untill the front tire touches the front guard, another thing to look at is lowering both ends of suspension a tad , that makes bikes turn better as well.

On Sean Collier's bike we are running the forks 1mm down the tubes.
He is also running the 132.5mm linkage arms.
Everybody who has rode it says that they like the way it corners including the Motocross Action Magazine's Wrecking Crew.
They commented that they were surprised at how well it handled on a MX track... Something that the K5 is not known for.

On my Supermoto I'm running them about 5mm down the tubes.
Definitely carves the twisties better...

That sounds good guys thanks. Sounds like I can move them as far as I want as long as the clamps stay on the fat part of the shock. All I needed to know. Thanks again

I have another quick question rather than starting the new thread. How do you torque the lower for stud bolts on a cylinder? I can't get a socket over them.
