Title: How to View Pictures for Now - Photo-Suck-It Declares War on Third Party Hosting
Post by: umberto on July 30, 2017, 05:00:04 AM
Photobucket just decided overnight to disable their third party hosting for everyone that uses the site.  You can still view the pictures by right clicking on the picture and opening in a tab.  This will allow you to view any picture on Photobucket.  There are a couple of other sites that host pictures (Imgur perhaps), we just need to put instructions out there on how to do them.  I'm going on vacation this week, so it will be mid August before I can get anything together.

Ive been using ingur for a few years now and have abandoned photobucket, and especial now that they want it a paid service to view.

Imgur is super easy to use and has a great app.

A bit of an update on this:  It looks like you can not view other people's pictures in Photobucket at all now even if you open the photo in a new tab.  You can view your pictures by right clicking and opening the image in a new tab (as long as you are logged in to your Photobucket account) if you want to load your pictures into another site and fix your links.

Anybody want to drive to Photobucket's corporate office and give them a big middle finger from all of us?   :-D

Sorry reklessj, it appears not.  I am trying to get a quick reference guide for Imgur together.  It seems to be a lot easier anyway.  Photobucket pulled this crap with all their customers at once, and only offers the $399.00 a year package no matter if you link one picture or one million.  They are receiving a ton of negative exposure on the internet, so maybe it will drive them to reverse course or at least offer an affordable option for the casual user.  I would consider paying a much smaller fee ($5 a month/$60 a year maybe).  I have over 380 linked pictures on Photobucket, so staying put would be a much easier option.

Imgur is super easy to use.

Photobucket will realise what they did when they go out of business.
