Good morning moto heads!
Question: will 2003 and up KX250 plastic (mainly side panels and rad shrouds) fit a 2001? Id like to upgrade the look of the old bike.

radiator shrouds, and fenders will be what you could change...side #plates won't be pretty, as they run totally different with the airbox, and connect into the shrouds on the '01.
here's a couple pics so you can see what we're lookin at...

haha...I didn't say that...I said it wouldn't be pretty.
The problem, or the hard part, is the side # plates. On the '03-up, they connect into the airbox...whereas on the '01, they overlay the airbox. Soooo, you'd have to swap airboxes too, if that's even workable. Anything's possible if you really want it bad enough...it all depends on how much time and effort you're willing to put into it.
Me personally, would leave the '01 plastics on it, as the "L" 250's are a sexy machine in stock/factory trim...maybe change up the colors of the plastic a bit. I threw on black fenders, and black side plates on my '00...just to change up the look.

the best thing to do 1st...would be to try to get a hold of some used '03-up plastics, and try to fit em up to the '01 frame/chassis...just to see how much or how little work it'll take to get em to fit properly.

here's a pic of mine with the black...
Ive since added a black front fender/# plate as well...
