Looking for a source for new radiators that wont force me to mortgage the house. Anyone have experience with the lower cost rads?
-
the only problem with the lower cost rads(e-bay), is you'll more than likely need to modify them to some extent...which isn't a huge deal, just a pain in the a**.
Mylers is a decent source, a little more money, but they're cheaper than oem's, and the way I myself would go.

some of the guys on here may be able to come up with more suggestions too.

x2 on the mylers rads. i run a set of there supercool rads on my k5 and they bolt right up and are excellent quality. i had a couple mounts crack after a a couple seasons and i called them and they said to send them back and they repaired and reinforced for free. great people and great customer service. they will also give a few bucks for your old rads. you can also check their website for used rads if you don't want to spend the money for there supercool rads. If you are keeping the bike there supercool rads are worth the money.

I checked them out and at 290.00 a pair, plus shipping, duty and dollar exchange (Im in Canada) I can get OEM ones for slightly more. Looking to save a bit more than that. Not keeping the bike long so I don't really want to go crazy dollar wise.

that's if you can even still get oem's...they're all listed as No longer Available.

My local dealer has a set in stock. $440.00 plus tax.

they are showing that they have a used set on there website. that would save you some money and they guarantee them not to leak. be a good way to go if you are selling.

it's your call...
just keep in mind, if you do go the "cheap" route...be prepared to do some customizing to get them to fit correctly(like relocating mounting brackets). There's several threads on here about the cheap e-bay rads, and having to modify em to fit correctly...but if you're just getting them to sell it right away, that might be your better choice.

this is the route I'd take if I didn't want to spend a ton of cash...I'd search e-bay and craigslit for a while for a good set of used '99-'02 oem's. You can usually find a decent set for under $100, and you'll be able to just bolt em right on

Well I bit the bullet and just bought the cheap ones lol. If I have to mod them thats fine, I build custom street bikes so im sure I can handle in :P
Thanks for all the input guys!

Cool....you'll be fine, everyone that's had to modify em, said it was pretty simple...just relocating one or two mounting brackets. 😎

Search Amazon, Ebay and somebody might be parting out a whole bike. Lots of options. You will find em.
