Title: Moose Racing Easy Pull Clutch System
Post by: umberto on May 06, 2017, 09:27:19 AM
Has anyone tried one of these?  The reviews are pretty good on them, and I need something to help out Goliath's clutch pull.  I tried Danger's stock clutch, and it was a lot easier to use.

Make sure you have a new cable, well lubed, and OEM springs.  A good quality perch goes a long way too.  The item in question is a waste of money.  Clutch arm bearings like to go out too.

buy a tennis ball and squeeze it...like they did in the '70s and '80s...when men were men.

The clutch cable is new and well lubed, and the perch is works connection. I'm going to try some OEM springs, as I don't remember it being this stiff when I had the stock clutch in it.  Thank you for the input Alex!

I got some OEM springs installed today, and all I can say is: Wow!  It made a huge difference!  Thank you again for the suggestion!

Do you have the extended clutch arm?
If not that will reduce your pull another 20%

I do  :-D. Adam does a good job on the extended arms, wonder where he got the idea from? ;) Seriously though, it makes the clutch pull extremely easy. I've got my paired with an ARC RC-8 clutch perch assembly (works connection is made by ARC also). Pulls with one finger rather easily. You can see it in this pic:

I'm leaning towards the EFM clutch at this point.  I think it would really help in the tight woods I ride in.

Have you had a chance to take any more video of your bike?  I would love to see it in action.

I've been so busy lately that I just haven't been out riding much. On top of that, I picked up a 1997 CR500 and just redid the seat cover/graphics on my 2012 RM-Z450 (no brand inequality here  :-D). It's been a while since I last took my gopro out, but I should be riding tomorrow morning, as long as the weather cooperates, so I'll see if I can get some good footage then!

Those are good looking scooters!  I'm thinning out my herd a little bit so I can get a new project.  I think I would like to try a mid 2000s RM 250.  It never hurts to try the competition, right?

Thanks. I'm going to put the cr500 into a gen 3 frame (cr250), more specifically an 05-07. I just haven't found a donor bike yet. Yeah the rm250s I've heard are pretty hard hitting, more specifically the 06  8-)
