Hi all, hoping someone has geeked out enough on their '05-'07 to figure out how to get more gearing spread out of it. I understand a lot of trans gears were swappable from KDXs and such on the older bikes but I can't find anything for the newer ones. I don't want to jump ship and buy a KTM...but I need a wider ratio. I like to ride tight woods and rocks, but I also like to zoom around with my hair on fire.

never looked in to that , do know some of the guys had a higher 5th gear set for the k5 , dont know what it would cost but most likely you could get a set made , if you get a price to do gears let us know , wondered how much it would cost?

There is a place in the UK that makes WR gearsets. They may be able to help you out. I'll try to find a link.

let us know if they do a set for the kx.

Looks like they only have gear sets for KLX and DR-Z. Good lookin' out though! I wonder if they could be convinced.....?

I have a set of them in my DRZ they are very well made and strong. They used to do WR gears for the CR5 from memory, Mike the owner is a good guy to deal with and with some persuasion might be able to make it happen.

What gears are changed in the trans of your DRZ. I have one also and thought about this swap in the future.

The ACT set replaces 2nd to 5th gear. 1st is part of the trans shaft. The nice thing about these gears is you can run short gearing with your sprockets and still be able to cruise at highway speeds without bouncing the engine off the limiter. I found it uninteresting when I put the KDX trans in my 90 it was 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th that were changed as 3rd was part of the trans shaft.
