Title: what pipe to get
Post by: jeffro351 on March 02, 2017, 01:39:19 AM
I have a 2004 kx250f frame with a 1996 kx500 motor that I purchased. I am wanting to replace the pipe and silecer. I was just wondering what the easiest route for me to take would be? I am not a fabricator, but I do have good welders around. Any help in this matter is appreciated. The pipe is the eve sore on the bike now, and I would love to replace it.

do you have the engine in the frame already? I used an old Cr500af fmf pipe and had a kx500 inlet welded on. It has worked but the fit is terrible.

I bought the bike complete and running. Everything fits and works great, the existing pipe is just rusty and dented and I wanted to replace it.

Maybe it would be easier to send the existing pipe out if the fit is good. There are a few pipe repair shops that could straighten it out and then scotch brite and penetrating oil do wonders.
