I had to weld up the bottom mounting hole on my radiators and drill and re-tap them about 1/2" forward. I then bowed them forward a little bit with longer radiator braces that I made from aluminum strap. Be careful not to push them too far forward that it pinches the hose and restricts flow between the radiators. The space is tight in that area for sure.
On the airbox, I used a 1996 KX500 airboot and made a aluminum plate to fit over my 250 airbox. I attached the boot to the carb, put the subframe on, marked the aluminum plate for the bolt holes, and cut the hole out so the boot mounted to the aluminum plate. Here is a rundown of what I did:

If you get a chance, post some pics of your project and the issues you are having. I know there are several guys on here that have done the 99-02 conversion and should be able to provide more feedback. Here is a guide to posting pictures using photobucket.

just an FYI...if you already have pics posted on the internet...i.e....like on another forum...you don't need to use Photobucket, you can just transfer them right on here using the "Insert Image" icon....much easier.

Bit of an update rads are sorted 5mm spacers have done the trick . kick start hiting the frame
Just need to trim the frame wear the engine spindle goes throu the frame as for the carb air boot problem don't won't to drill hols for adaptor plate in my new 160£ air box so going to try
And cut the rad valve tube and rotate it and weld back up looks like it mite line up with the carb ,,, just need to grow some balls to get the saw out on my nice rad valve . May even cut the standard rubber one rest it in place first to see if it will work ,, again thank you all for the info realy has helped I will keep you all updated with the progress
