Title: 1993 KX 125 cylinder compatibility with KX 125 1992?
Post by: Staffy78 on January 29, 2017, 08:00:14 PM

Hello KX Riders

I have recently purchased a 1992 KX 125 and would like to know if the cylinder from the 1993 KX 125 is compatible? They do have different part numbers with Kawasaki but I can't see any physical difference on the parts diagram.

This bike is a bit of a pig so any info, tips and parts for sale would be appreciated.

Many thanks for your help!

Broderick

I have read that the kx125 92 head and cylinder wont interchange with any other models , they say to machine 0.5 mm from cylinder base  but do check piston to head clearance in case the head been machined before by someone  , some had trouble with conrod failures but kawasaki produced a better quality rod and bearing replacement but i doult the orignal would be in there still .Hot rod make a con rod kit for these and talking to a rep they say they have improved there quality  , i would prefer wossner rod but i dont think they make one for that model ?
