Title: 1999 KX 125 Cometic Gasket Question.
Post by: Oblivious Maximus on July 28, 2016, 02:25:22 PM
Just finished a 2002 KX 125, 2mm overbore, top end rebuild and used a 56mm Cometic head gasket kit.

I'm currently rebuilding my stock 1999 125 and Cometic shows the 56mm and 58mm but no 54mm top end gasket kit in their catalog.

Did I use the wrong one on the 56mm cylinder or does the 56mm kit serve the stock 54mm bore as well?

the 56mm is fine to use, they do the same with the K5 head gaskets too.  Grip it and rip it!!!

Thanks for your reply Alward. It was late last night when I hit the complete purchase button and noticed the bore size on the gasket kit. Had a little panic attack thinking I had used the wrong one on the other bike.

I'd love to grip n rip it but the 125 is in pieces and my 250 is down with an unknown ailment. Not enough room or time to work on them both at the same time so.... i'm on the Banshee for a while.
