Heres my bike that i bought yesterday for a bargain, the owner said it was a 1998 KX 125 but i'm not sure about the engine's year.
Can you guys tell me?
The idea is to transform the kx into a enduro bike. Now it doesn't have compression, it starts but the ex-owner said the piston is knocked-out.
Now the pictures that i took, and that the ex-owner send me
Thanks!

interesting...that the engine case serial #, I believe, is of a '99 KX250. :-o

I also thought of that, they said that this rod is stronger than the kx 125 '98 stock one and that the engine case is from another kx that he had...
-
here's a good way to verify the "bikes" year, just to be sure it's a '98....ignore the fact that it says KX500 VIN#, as it works with the 250 & 125 the same way...
if yours really is a '98, the 10th digit will be a W.

It's either a 92 or a 93 engine...
Probably a 93..
If you have the cylinder, check the numbers
1672 is a 92
1687 is a 93
-
yup, "J" indicates the model...
now...that swing arm, doesn't jive as '98....that's a '94-'96 swingarm.
have you checked the frame VIN# Hugo?...you'll find it on the right hand side of the frame neck.
-
Thank you guys! Do you know of this engine is good in terms of power or better buy a more recent one?

About to send the cylinder for a nikasil bath.
What about piston, wiseco, wossner or oem?
