I like the black tank "look"....I put one on my '95 as well....little tough checking how much fuel you have sometimes, but I do like that look.
is it an official '03/'04 black tank....or painted?

Yep I also like the way it looks. I was thinking about painting the original tank but I didnīt cause I wanted it to be black little bit longer  :-D So bought this tank from ebay...  Also that ASV clutch lever has been really useful. Fingers last little bit longer when going to smaller paths :-D
