It's got me thinking about dumping my low hour 2008
Rmz250. I don't want to deal with 4 strokes anymore.
And I don't have time for another bike conversion.
I wonder how much that counter balancer decreases arm pump.

is it just the 450sxf's that are breaking the steering neck off again? I've seen 5 now, not personally but reliable sources.

That's terrifying.  Are they coming completely off, or just cracking loose?

I saw a couple of those broken bikes on other sites since my last post.
If they don't address the problem,  then no new 250 sx for me.
Being unable to work due to a broken frame is way more expensive than any 4 stroke problems and expenses.

I own three KTM's. Please provide a link, write up or pictures to the frame failures. None of mine have failed and my newest is a 2015? As a KTM owner I'm very interested in these failures.

I've seen a lot of the pictures too of the broken frames/steering stems (can't really tell).  I've seen one broken by one of the National Enduro pro riders at a national a year or two ago on a power line wreck.  There was another one at a local national dual-sport last year (the Hammer Run, Tri-County Sportsmen MC). I can possibly see a pro lunching something at the speeds the clip along at, but the guy at a flat-land, South Jersey dual-sport, aka trail ride?  I don't know... Sounds defective.

The test sounds really positive, I would love to ride one.  Anybody want to buy one and let me test ride it?   :-D

that what happens when you lighten bikes like ktm you risk parts breaking , if i bought one , i find out the weak spot make some gussets and strengthen it, if it the clamps get aftermarket, i remember the 1980 kxs were breaking frames and i saw somewhere kawi had a gussit kit avaliable for this model , which you had to fit . going by what i read at the time they did replace broken 1980 frames with 1981 frames , i seen a few late model yz frames crack and the dealers just replace them , they reckon they didnt weld the alumiunium right just down from the head tube,

if you don't want to be bothered by it, don't click onto it....no one's making you...you only have yourself to blame for that.
there's members on here that own KTM's and other brands too.
