so I'm just finishing up on rebuilding my kx250. And after installing the cylinder I noticed when looking into the intake from where the reeds are supposed to be the base gasket blocks the three bottom intake ports that feed into the lower part of the cylinder. Thinking I had received the wrong gasket I bought a new one. But I seems like the new gasket will do the same thing. When I finish up with work tomorrow I'll pull the cylinder and have a look.
BTW I would post the pics I have but Its not letting me paste the picture to my post

Lol so I guess my question is if anyone's ran into that problem before, this bike is new to me and it's my first time building it

Hopefully I will be working on my 2004 this weekend. If I think about it, I'll try to take pictures of mine. Here is a pic of the 03 250 that came out of Goliath, but you can't see if that is gasket in the holes or not.

The gasket should have holes

Yup forget what I had said, I'm dumb. I in fact have an 03 kx250 and the cylinders are different. I was told I was purchasing an 04 tho I probably should have done my homework. Thankfully all other parts that I replaced seem to be the same between the two years

I'm glad you figured that out. The 03 and the 04 are pretty close in appearance, with only the swingarm and front brake being different visually.
