Title: Any chance of finding a new KX500 Case? Kawasaki daeler says they can't get it?

yeah Kawie discontinued them.
search e-bay relentlessly day to day...they're out there, but you may have to get a set that's a little beat up and need some love to make em good.
I don't know what your budget is, but it could be beneficial for you to buy a complete motor...just another option to think about.

I post K5 motors in the E-Bay/Craigslist section periodically.

580 seems steep for a damaged case, but I guess it's hard to price them now. That was the price for a brand new set from Kawasaki.
I am reluctant to buy anything I can't see first now . I actually had bought an engine on eBay and it showed up and the a**hole had neglected to mention the chain had come off and destroyed the case and had been JB welded back together. The oil fill plug was snapped off , and the drain plug area of the case was cracked due to over tightening.
I'm getting so tired of the dishonesty out there now a days. Hence the reason for posting on a forum I think my best chance is to find someone here.
If it was a possibility I would prefer to get new even if it's a bit steep.
I will keep looking at what is on there, thanks for the lead!
Any idea what my 2000 KX complete roller minus the engine is worth ?

I know, there's a few scum bags out there trying to sell garbage, by listing it as "good".
You can try giving Sandblater a PM....he may have a set, or know someone/somewhere to find a used set...finding new will be difficult, as they've been discontinued for about a year+ now...and there's been a few guys on here over the past few months looking for sets as well.

depending how clean the roller is...either side of $1K if it's really, really clean.

Yep Foxx is absolutely correct watch out for what you buy off e-bay. I finally got a good bottom end after buying a set of halves with a spun main journal.

Right now I have a back log of people who want good cases and all I have are cases I need to repair first....
But I'm too lazy... Or busy... Whatever...  :-P
