So what cables are you guys using? The one i have barley works and the adjustments are all the way out. Any ideas? Also if anyone has an answer for my fuel problem? I molded the stock tank but short of molding and oversized tank i have no other ideas.

I was able to run a 250 cable. Had to try a couple diff routings and trim/sand down the adjuster screw deal to give the cable enough play

I had that same issue with mine at first. I ended up using a stock replacement 89 and up KX 500 clutch cable. I did bend the tube a little bit to make it follow the 250 cable path more closely.

Thanks, bike has been a work in progress for way too long its time to get it race ready. Anyone done an sfc with an oversized tank??

zz3gmc has, but his was an 04 model. He used an IMS tank, but did have to do some heating and shaping. What year is your bike?

Im using a Clarke tank from a 05-07 KX250 2t on my 04 conversion. Very little heating was needed. I used a stock KX500 clutch cable with the bend in the tube straightened so it would run in front of the radiator just like the 03-04 250 does. It gets rid of that sharp bend over top of the radiator and eases the clutch pull some. Im also using a Moose Racing clutch perch/lever assy and my pull is as easy if not a little easier than a 250.

bike year is 2002 thanks for the ideas, id like to race this bike next year in a few harescrambles. might even make it to one this year

The 03/04 clutch cable routing will work on yours also. Ive raced mine in enduros and love it! Hopefully will be racing the North East 24 Hour Challenge on it in July. Putting it back together now.
