I went to Barbon hillclimb yesterday and took some pics, didn't bother with the standard bikes cos I can see them anytime on the net and it's nice to see the result of some blokes spares mountain and lots of ingenuity.
Is Hillclimb sprints the last bastion of cheap racing and will big budgets eventually make it boring like so many other sports.
I thought it was nice to see so many varied bikes competing in the same race.
With a bit of luck these should come out OK on the thread.
The one bike I really wanted a pic of was the Spondon framed Suzuki X7 250 but the bloke buggered off before I saw it up close :(

The bloke was pretty good also, not hanging around at all.
He did say that righthanders were a bit of a problem though
Some of those old classics were running on Methanol and a bit faster than I expected.
The KX engine was from a 89 works bike, used to have four gears.
You can see the casing isn't standard from the pics.

To tell you the truth I remember pictures from my old moto magazines of SR500 works bikes and they had the same clutch cover as in the picture, very collectable!

The previous owner (bloke called Neil hutch as far as I remember) offered to sell it to me a couple of years ago but I was so skint that I didn't even ask what price he wanted :(
