Title: 02 crankcases not matching

Hello there. I have an02 kx 125 which had no compression when I got it. So I pulled apart the top end and everything seemed to be fine. But what I did notice was that where the cases come together where the reed cage  would mount, wasn't even and flat. Could it be that the previous owner put a different case on (right or left) and that be the reason for the lack of compression?

it sounds like it could very well be mis-matched case halves.
you'll have to lap them, so they'll sit nice and flat together.

there's some threads on here about it....Sandblaster has some pics around somewhere...
