Title: Rekluse clutch for 2004 KX 250
Post by: umberto on February 22, 2016, 04:43:02 AM
I wanted to add a Rekluse or other auto clutch to my 2004 KX 250.  It seems like Rekluse makes a model for the 06-07, but not for the 04.  Sandblaster's interchange guide says that the 06-07 clutches are different, so I figured I would ask if anyone has tried the later model clutch in a 2004.

Thank you!

Also, does anyone have any experience with Revloc dyna ring clutches?  They list a model for 93 and up that seems to be like the Rekluse.  I have a regular Revloc in my KDX, but it is fully automatic all the time, and I would like to be able to fan the clutch once and a while.

I ran a dyna ring in my DRZ for a little while, it worked well and you could still use the clutch manually if needed. It did dirty up the oil pretty quickly though if you rode it hard but this was in a motard.

I spoke with Tom at EnduroPilot.com, and he had Rekluse kits for my bike in stock. I ordered one, and should have it later this week.  Pretty pumped to get it installed.

I got my Rekluse in today.  I hadn't used EnduroPilot.com before, but I was impressed.  Tom took very good care of me.  He also stocks the Dyna Ring clutches for a lot of the stuff that Rekluse doesn't cover.

Nice to have a source for these now bootleg clutches!

The clutch plates are the same between the 03-07. I have a 03,04 and 07 and have used the same part #s for all of them. Clutch hub and pressure plate are the same part# but the clutch basket is different.

Rekluse lists the same clutch fitting 96-07, you just can't buy them from Rocky Mountain because they only list them as working for 06-07 for some reason.

I took my bike riding in my hometown with the new Rekluse installed, and man what a difference it made.  The bike was prone to slow speed stalling without a quick clutch hand, making it more of an open terrain bike.  The areas we ride in are all woods and single track, so this bike usually stayed home when we went riding.  Having the Rekluse installed made a huge difference in riding the bike.  Even with my 71 year old dad riding at a relaxed pace, I never stalled the bike.  It was totally worth the price and made the bike a lot of fun to ride in the woods.

Not hijack your post but does any one have the instructions for the Revloc dyna ring for a KX250. I bought a 2002 KX250 last year with the revloc in it, but it does not do anything. It sits in the middle of the clutch pack, I have adjusted the cable but it just acts like a regular clutch.
I can stall it letting out the clutch in idle . Its is supposed to just slightly pull but you should be able to hold the bike still with you legs down. I have read about some models needing spacers but the you tube video of the guy putting one in an 03 KX looks like the same setup that I have with no extra spacers and it works?

I would call Tom at http://enduropilot.com/ (http://enduropilot.com/).  He stocks both the Rekluse and the Revloc (at least what stock is left).  He is also a fellow dirt bike rider and just a really nice guy.

I was thinking about getting a hold of them. I noticed they did seem to have a lot of left over stock of the revloc clutches.
Thanks
