Title: Shock rebuild help
Post by: orangetigerfish on February 19, 2016, 08:46:04 AM
im trying to rebuild the shock off of a 94 kx500 but im having a hard time trying to find a replacement piston band. the only ones i can find are too tall and wont fit on the piston. does anyone know where i can find the right sized one. Also has anyone tried or found a teflon low friction piston band something like what mxtech sells?

Don't know about finding an individual band, but you can buy a whole rebuild kit from KYB. Part # is 129994600801.

Are you trying to avoid OEM parts for some reason? Kawasaki sells all parts for the shock including the parts you are after. A local Kaw dealer can order parts and parts are also available online. http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b2269f8700223e478a805/shock-absorber-s (http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b2269f8700223e478a805/shock-absorber-s)
