Title: Fuel Cap Replacement
Post by: Kaveman42 on July 21, 2005, 06:16:43 AM: I need help finding a Fuel Cap replacement for my 1989 KX500. Mine cracked somehow and I cant really ride until I replace it. Anyone know where I can get one? I noticed that RockyMountainATV.com has some but they dont have one for the KX500. Would any other models fit for it?

Post by: gowen on July 21, 2005, 03:35:10 PM: hughes, thanks for the PM. I will run outside, check, and try all the gas caps. :-) I am almost 100% positive that the 250's will fit it. Infact, I've used the gas cap off my YZ too. I will let you guys know sorry to make you'll wait.

Post by: Timbowe on July 21, 2005, 07:40:36 PM: The alloy jobies look the bizo and there probably less expensive than an original. Plus you'll never have the splitting problem again.

So the 1999 and newer cap fits the 04 KX5 anyway!!!

Post by: Kaveman42 on July 29, 2005, 12:51:58 AM: I received the Thor Aluminum Fuel Cap yesterday and it fit perfect. Ordered the KX250 one and it fit right onto my 89 KX500. Looks nice as well. Great quality.

Post by: hughes on August 01, 2005, 03:31:39 PM: Installed my tusk off road alumn. cap today fits perfect on my 87 500. I order a cap for an 2000-05 kx250. I will post pictures later after I get the bike back together.
