Title: head gasket problem, advise needed
Post by: trgracing on January 22, 2016, 10:52:01 AM
hi,

ive read it somewhere on here some where, but cannot find it,

i purchased a couple of kx 500,s  3 or 4 years ago,   years 2001,  recently i thought i would use it,  so after a check over, i found it had nipped up- siezed on the top end,
so after a strip down of the top end, i found the cylinder above the piston, had very light marks ( rust ) i think from a leaking head gasket.......so i sent it for a cylinder re plate, and a fresh top end.

my question is,  ive read you guys lap the cylinder/head ?  can i check for any warp on the head ?   any advise is welcome
