Hey Guy's, I need to take poll to see what everybody thinks what gearing I should run. I want to keep the 14 front but am looking to change the rear from 47 to 48,49 etc. I ride trails some tight and some open. The stock gearing is to high for pulling hills and I work the clutch to much. Let's see what ya'll think.

Hey, sounds like my riding. I went to a 50 in the rear and left the 14 and it didnt do it for me, so for kicks i got a 13 in the front with the 50 rear, and i absolutly love it. They're cheap, so for kicks you might want to try it.

I left the sprockets alone and added a 14oz steahly flywheel weight. Now I can take off in second gear and still have first for slow tight hills. I can idle and lug the engine like a four stroke. I like my 14/47 setup just fine.

I run a 13 front with a 50 rear. I can ride tight gnarly trails and my Trailtech has clocked me just over 90mph in the desert. Everyone rides a little different, find somethng that works for you. I also bought an RK Gold O-Ring Chain and after the first ride I haven't had to adjust it.

46/14 for me. I have no trouble at all on serious hill country at all, specially with the magura hyd clutch set up. I dread to think what a 50 tooth rear is like! Maybe you guys with huge rears [sprockets] should try the Gnarly/Vforce/spacer combination. Heaps of low end to get yourself of the mark with all the speed for those high end bomber runs. YESSSSSS. Tims $o.02

The easiest way to go is the front 13/14 combo. Fast to change and good range. What the old story? 1 on the front =3 on the back [teeth].

I have study this chart before. And fully understand ratios. I just want everybodies input on what they are running for woods. I guess it is just somthing I will need to just play with. I think I am going to try the 49 rear first and buy a 13 front for the hell of it.

What are good gears for a begginer? I need to chain both gears soon and the chain. I mostly do trail riding.

14/49 here. Works great in the sand/hill climbs.

I installed a 13/48 over the winter. Not a huge difference, but definitely easier in tight woods.

I am running 16/47 but suspect my needs might be slightly different from most of you lot
