Title: 1.0 mm Thick Head Gasket Report
Post by: Kawadougie on June 01, 2005, 03:08:10 PM
I don't know if anyone else has tried it but I recently swapped out the head gasket that comes with the Cometic gasket kit (0.2mm) with a thick 1.0 mm gasket from Kawasaki.  Stock gasket thickness is 0.4mm.  My main interest is woods riding and I found that it softened the hit slightly on the bottom end but it still pulls nicely from the mid to top end.  Exactly what I was looking for.  It also runs appreciably cooler now.  Kick starting is much easier also.  :D

Sweet.

Thanks for the update.

This kinda confirms what I was looking to do in my thread "Quite possibly the stupidest question ever..."

Don't worry about asking seemingly stupid technical questions as it's much more stupid to NOT ask and mess something expensive up.
