Hello all, i just bought an 8? Kx250 i am unaware the year but i have the vin and engine code. Please help me. Bike needs work and i have to start with exhaust. Doesnt have exspansion pipe or silencer and year or parts that fit (year swap). All response s accepted. And i am unaware of how to upload photos as i am on an i phone 5.
VIN:JKAMC17EA005174
Engine:KHIKX250CEO1221

It has rear drum and rear fender/ number plate. Also has tabs for a kick stand....uni track rear suspension. Disc brake front.

It's strange. The physical description screams 83 or 84, but the VIN is not 17 digits which was mandated in 1981. Does it look like this?
1983

or this?
1984

That is exactly what it looks like, how can i go about getting the exhaust? Any retro fits from other years? Ebay has no exspansion pipes that are these years. I just want to get her running

83 or 84?
-
I would say 84 it has silver rims and a 130 section rear tire

You might be in for a challenge finding a pipe for your bike. I did a quick search, and eBay and the web turned up nothing. I did find this place, but they are kind of pricey:

Thank you very much for the help!

You're welcome. Keep us posted on your progress.

for the 83/84 kx250 better keep the oem-pipe ... aftermarket with much luck only from dg or you find a company, that is able to copy your old one...
-
Problem is i have no exhaust period, bike cane with none. Iam thinking that is why it was so cheap. I have emaild CPI Racing and just waiting on a reply.

So just got an email back from Custom Pipes Inc and they do not make a pipe for my bike....grrr i found a company in australia that has them but they are 345$. + 100$ shipping. For that price ill buy a roller a lath and a welder and make my own expansion pipe!
Any other thoughts?

Will an 84 tecate 250 expansion pipe fit? I found one on ebay and looks like it is the exact shape, maybe with diffrent tabs wich is the least of my worries at this moment.

So i found an 84 kxt250 tecate pipe and it fits but not great. It hits the top of fram near gas tank. And the front frnder when turning right. Ill keep updating
