Title: Need help with 04 kx250
Post by: Sherland on June 22, 2015, 11:56:22 AM
I replaced my piston in my kx250 and put everything back on my resemble which I'm pretty sure I did correctly. The problem began when I went to start it no joy. Initially when I open the petcock it was pissing fuel from the drain so I laid it on its side to let it drain out and picked it back up. I also taped the bowl just in case the float was stuck. I also have a new work plug in it. When I kicked it over it still won't start but I'm getting fuel dropping out the where the exhaust n head meet. I also removed the plug and kicked it over a few time to try n get all the excess fuel out but still getting the leak from the exhaust portion. I feel like I'm missing something small n it's kicking my ass any thing else I can do. I'm pretty much lost at this point. But I'm pretty sure on my reassemble I did it right n the position is in the right position.

taped the bowl????? sounds bloke you have a dirty carburetor.super dirty. something sticking the float valve wide open and its not able to get out of the carb fast enough or at all. so the only place left is the cylinder . thats just a guess though. i dont know why you would tape the bowl.  . clean the carb is a good start. totally go through your carb. thats where the fuel has to go 1st. unless you just ran a fuel hose straight from the tank to the plug hole. im doubting that........

Of course you should.
Just let me know when your coming.
Remove your seals and bearings.
Degrease your parts, toss them in the cabinet, and blast them.
